Ocellated Turkey Feathers

You know how hummingbird have some feathers with brilliant color that flashes, then goes away. It is because the color is structural, built into the feather so it reflects light from a certain angle. The ocellated turkey may be the largest bird that shares this characteristic on its relatively larger feathers. It lives in Yucatan, Belize, and Guatemala where it shares its habitat with many more kinds of hummingbirds than we have here in the USA. These feather colors never fade.
