In Yellowstone National Park a few years ago, the wolf found the elk. Now, the virus found us. We are forced to be cautious. Life cannot exist without death which I view as both horrific and beautiful. We have to kill plants and animals to eat to live even though we try to hide from that fact. A bird has to kill to eat to nourish the growth of its feathers. I make art with their gently shed feathers which retain their beauty and complexity.
Yet the birds are still alive.
Maybe for me, this fact is a little respite from the horror.
