This weekend boasts another not-to-miss event in downtown Olympia. Paddle to Nisqually will bring over 13o tribal canoe families to our Olympia shore for this unique cultural event. Area tribes will paddle their canoes, dress in ceremonial attire and share traditional native song, dance and prayer for the celebration. Witness the gathering of tribes and passing on of tradition at this amazing annual canoe journey.

We are proud to carry artwork made or inspired by the fascinating and strong indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest. One of the region’s most recognized artists is Marvin Oliver, a Professor of Native Indian Studies at The University of Washington and a curator at the Burke Museum, whose Tlingit prints are also available in beautiful notecards. Very popular, are the small framed prints and drum ornaments from Tongass Tribe member, Israel Shotridge, who has been crafting totem poles, canoes, jewelry and much more for over 25 years. A staple for the gallery for years, is the North Coast Collection, sterling silver jewelry designed by Paul Wagner and cast by Jeff McKenzie. The large selection of native inspired pendants, earrings and rings for men and women, make it easy to find the perfect totem for yourself or as a gift – perfect souvenir to remember the day.
