If you have ever experienced one of those picture perfect days – strolling your favorite, private strip of beach, hiking a leg of a trail that appears untouched, or discovering hidden treasures in a sleepy, small town, you will find a connection with Julie Creighton’s watercolors. Julie’s travels around the Pacific Northwest and beyond are captured in these lovely landscapes of quaint harbors, pastoral mountain meadows, endless beaches and flowing rivers.
The bright and whimsical batiks created by Olympia’s Lisa Kattenbraker invite the viewer to come to their own conclusion of what story is being played out in her work .While her character’s figures themselves are essentially without expression, their posture and detailed surroundings certainly depict admiration, acceptance, simplicity and love.
