Today, Heartwood Creations, is a group of talented craftspeople from America's heartland whose woodwork is known around the world. Each piece is made from the heart. The craftsman mark that signifies their care and love of woodworking is a little heart that you see on every piece.
Michael believes that as a woodworker who depends on nature, it is imperative that he gives back and restores what has been used. He has made a commitment to develop a tree planting policy that replenishes trees used to make his boxes and boards. Since 1990 he has funded the planting of over 100,000 trees,; five trees for every one they use.
