We are thrilled to host another Arts Walk cover artist, wire  sculptor, Colleen Cotey.

It is apparent that Cotey’s inspiration for her work stems from her love of animals and wildlife. The artist’s sculptures are often reminders of personal experiences; walks in the woods, whale watching, volunteering, equestrianism . Colleen’s keen observation of anatomy, movement and balance are woven and twisted, using copper and steel wire until they come to life, capturing the spirit of her subjects. This Spring’s exhibit will include native birds and wildlife and extinct species, some mounted on indigenous woods or slate.

Colleen has worked with Wolfhaven International, is a Signature artist of the Society of Animal Artists and has won the Equine Arts Purse Trophy Purchase Award at Emerald Downs – a dream come true having been a horse lover her entire life.  In addition to her wire sculpture, Colleen is a painter, woodworker and recently has done linoleum block printing.
