Once Upon a Blue Moon - by Judith Smith

Once Upon a Blue Moon – by Judith Smith

Our extended Summer has come to an end – there are more leaves on the grass than petals, and gloves and scarves have emerged from the back of our closets, making their seasonal debut.

The change of seasons is always exhilarating. It’s refreshing to mix things up a bit this time of year- whether it’s switching out sun hats for a new scarf or purse, iced tea glasses for mugs, photos of the kids on the beach to the family on the slopes, even the paintings on your walls. With the days getting shorter and the upcoming holiday season, there is no reason spending more time inside shouldn’t be as enjoyable as a summer afternoon outside. We have lots of new work coming in each week to help you keep things fresh, or to set aside for the upcoming gift giving season.

If you haven’t made it in to view the solo exhibit, “Drawings” from Olympia’s Marilyn Frasca, you have just over a week to do so. As expected, this has been an tremendously well received show with many return viewers. Our upcoming holiday exhibit will showcase the work of four more talented returning artists, Raku ceramics from Dave & Boni Deal, carved feather shadowboxes from, Chris Maynard and pastel and mixed media paintings by Judith Smith. The artist talk that Marilyn gave was such a crowd pleaser, that we have decided to host talks with Chris and Judy December 3rd as well.

“Drawings” – by Marilyn Frasca, may be viewed through November 12th. Our holiday show opens November 19th and runs through year’s end.
