September is a great month to be in the Pacific Northwest. The Farmer’s Market is bustling and full of the colors and aromas of the harvest season, local wineries and cideries are introducing their latest bottlings and are busy with tours and tastings. The smell of leaves is in the air, the evenings are comfortable and sunsets are stunning. Another bonus of September, its brilliant deep blue birthstone, the sapphire. The intense, indigo tone is captivating. In legend and lore, sapphires are associated with sincerity, nobility, faithfulness and romance. They are believed to bring calming, clear thoughts and general good health to those who wear one.
Thanks to Olympia jeweler, Jeff McKenzie, we have several necklaces, rings & earrings bearing this noble stone. Set in his contemporary designs created from reticulated sterling silver, these pieces are versatile enough to be worn casualy, to the office or an evening out.
Thank you to all of the fantastic artists and art lovers who made The Women Painters of Washington show a huge success.
Up next is Arts Walk, October 6th & 7th. We will be exhibiting “Drawings” – new work by Marilyn Frasca and music from Pat Cole.
