Mary Denning’s “Autumn Glory” in October edition of Pastel Journal

The splendors of the season, indeed!  We aren’t surprised that yet another Olympia artist has been recognized by a national publication. The October edition of Pastel Journal has devoted an entire page to the brilliant, glowing hues of Mary Denning‘s painting “Autumn Glory.” Mary captures the essence of that perfect Fall day, when the leaves seem more brilliant than usual, the sky a deeper blue than you can recall, and the combination is magical.

Mary has been a well received resident artist at Childhood’s End for many years, and is a member of the Washington Pastel Society. We currently have several of Mary’s pastels at the gallery including another dreamy Fall scene, “Autumn Stroll.”

Another reason to celebrate the change of seasons is Arts Walk, this October 6th & 7th. We will be hosting a solo exhibit of Marilyn Frasca‘s monotype and pastel work. Be part of the energy and excitement by joining us for this longstanding Olympia tradition.
