Women Painters of Washington show features three returning resident artists.

Please join us for an opening celebration, this Saturday,  for our latest exhibit, “Seasons: The Women Painters of Washington” juried art show.

The Women Painters of Washington is an association of professional artists established in 1930 that has been holding exhibitions since 1931. The exhibits have been an exciting and successful way to introduce new artists to our gallery patrons, as well as showing recent work of some of those returning. In this year’s show, we will have three returning artists. Barbara Noonan, who has shown at the gallery for many years, has entered a new pastel, and from local artists, an oil from Kathyrn Townsend and a watercolor by Julie Creighton, whose work you may have seen in our last show. Two more Olympia artists showing for the first time at Childhood’s End are Mary Glendenning with pastel work and Mia Shulte with a mixed media painting. Over a dozen media types and numerous styles and techniques of painting will be on display in this exhibit.

Our exhibit opening reception will be Saturday August 5th from 1 – 3 pm and will be the first opportunity to see the 50 paintings by 38 different Washington women together for the first time. Mingle with several of the artists and other friends and fans of local art.
