Did you know that this week is National Major League All Star Game Week?
“B Ball” from area artist, Barbara Noonan, is an interesting and spirited mixed media piece, unlike other work that we have shown of hers in the past. Known for her pastels and wide range of imagery, Barb thought outside of her batter’s box for “B Ball,” and incorporated graphite and thread into this piece. The addition of the hand stitching gives Noonan’s already powerful pastel a little extra, for a finished product that’s a true triple play. If you have a sports fan in your life, than this new piece by Barb Noonan might just be a be home run for you!
If you aren’t a fan, don’t worry, Barbara’s wide range of imagery has a little something for most everybody’s taste and decor style. We will be featuring one of Noonan’s pastels in our August exhibit, “SEASONS” – a juried show from the Women Painters of Washington, featuring 50 paintings from 38 artists. The exhibit will run August 4th – September 16th.
Our current exhibit featuring paintings from Julie Creighton & Beverly Fotheringham has been so well received, we will be extending our show for you.
