Glass artist, Lin McJunkin & Stephanie Johnson with Olympia Arts Parks & Recreation install “Leaf Totem” for the Plinth Project.

Talk about a good sport! Lin McJunkin took it all in stride last Friday while the weather was being completely uncooperative. It absolutely poured during the installation of her latest sculptures for Olympia’s Percival Plinth Project.

Lin is exhibiting two kiln carved glass and metal sculptures this year. “Feather Totem 2 – Raven” is located in front of Olympia Avenue Plaza and “Leaf Totem” can be seen at Water Street & 4th Avenue – directly across from us. How lucky is that, we can look out of our window each day to see it! Come on into the gallery to see the latest exhibit and a few of Lin’s smaller fused glass pieces we have on display. If you aren’t familiar with the Plinth Project, this is Olympia’s way of letting you know that YOU have a say in what art is chosen to grace Olympia’s public spaces and government buildings. Remember – this is the FUN election, and everybody is happy in the long run!
