If you have been downtown in the last couple of weeks, no doubt you have seen the colorful banners and flags decorating our shops, businesses & public spaces. Olympia is known for its diversity and creativity and its accepting and embracing spirit. These are traits we should all be proud of. Show your support for our LGBTQ community and their families by joining in on the festivities at this year’s Capital City Pride Celebration. This year’s events will include an all ages street party, food booths, live music, evening dance party and of course the sparkling human rainbow that winds its way through town for the Pride Parade on Sunday. Pull out that tie dye t-shirt you haven’t worn for a while and come see what all the talk is about!

If you still need a gift for Dad, combine the trip this weekend and stop by the gallery too. Handsome ceramic mugs for his morning coffee, wooden boxes to hold keys & loose change, hand made cooking utensils, “steampunk” lamps and photo frames for your favorite shot with Dad are all sure hits. Bring him in to check out the latest exhibit with new watercolors from Julie Creighton & pottery from Loren Lukens, mixed media embroidery by Marie Hassett, wood inlay mirrors from J Nelson, raven etchings & giclees by Beki Killorin, amazing wooden tables from Gary Leake and whimsical etchings by Eileen Sorg.
