New pottery from Loren Lukens – “Mountain Meadow” watercolor by Julie Creighton

If you were lucky enough to see the “Women Painters of Washington” traveling exhibit we hosted in March of 2013, you may remember the lovely watercolor by Julie Creighton. We are pleased to be showing eleven new watercolors from Julie in our latest exhibit.

As many of our favorite artists do, Julie draws much of her inspiration for her work from her travels abroad and our own tranquil, captivating Northwest landscapes. Her blooming mountain meadows, misty seascapes and flowing waters may remind you of your favorite hiking or beach combing haunts. Creighton is a juried member of the Women Painters of Washington and a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Not new to the gallery, but new in design, are ceramics from Washington potter, Loren Lukens. We are excited to introduce his latest color line to our ceramics selection, with smokey browns and beiges on his signature organic lines. Though Luken chooses to use interesting shapes and bold designs that are very artistic, his pieces are all functional and meant to be used. His choice of pattern, color & style make them easy and interesting to collect, use and display.
