“Shadow” woodblock print with 22k gold leaf by Krisen Etmund $150

Skip the cheezy, imported rubber spiders, plastic skeletons and giant blow-up jack-o-lanterns and class it up this year, with a piece of art from one of our talented, regional artists.

Many of the artists we represent offer work with familiar Pacific Northwest wildlife, commonly associated with the Fall season. Olympia printmakers, Kristen Etmund and Doyle Fanning, have recently created several gorgeous prints with images of owlscrows and bats. The ceramic and mix media artists, John and Robin Gumaelius, whom we mentioned in our last post, have some impressive new crow sculptures, and we still have a few of the darling ceramic owl piggy banks by Susan Baldwin. Ravens adorn spectacular glass pieces from Jerry & Rayetta Perret, Fields & Fields and Jones Glass. These are beautifully composed works of art that you will want to keep up all year, and will be proud to display in your home.

Bring your little princess, zombie or action heros downtown for our annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat celebration. Dozens of Downtown Olympia businesses will be passing out goodies and playing along with a scavenger hunt. Find the zombie in each participating business and get a raffle ticket for a jumbo prize package. C’mon Mom & Dad, this is a great excuse for you to dress up and have a little fun too!
