Did you know that the Green Darner Dragonfly is Washington’s official insect? With their impressive abilities to change color and fly in all directions like Mother Nature’s little helicopters, did any other insect even have a chance at the title?
Dragonflies hold much meaning in Native American cultures as well. It was believed they possess magical qualities and represent transformation, renewal and resurrection. Encountering one implied a spiritual message. Even if they didn’t have all those amazing qualities, they are just fun to observe.
